Kepik spout flow diagram
At .5 - 1 GPM the flow out of the spout curls back on itself when it spill out of the spout forming a thin ribbon of dropplets. It’s quite charming,
Between 1-2 GPM the stream is fairly laminar and holds together well the entire measured distance of fall. If you need to limit the amount of splash then this is the range to use.
Beyond 3 GPM the stream becomes more chaotic and “wanders”.
The spout can handle a considerable volume of water. At flows over 5GPM the stream looks a bit foreced. That last bit is opinion and your’s may be different.
Spout was plumbed with 1 in pipe for all tests. Please be careful when using smaller pipe sizes as the the flows distort rather quickly and the flow profile will change radicaly.
